LESSON STUDY COMMUNITIES IN SECONDARY MATH

ANNOUNCING A NEW LESSON STUDY PROJECT:
The Center for Mathematics Education at Education Development Center, Inc.
(EDC) is now recruiting middle and high school teacher teams to participate
in  the Lesson Study Communities in Secondary Mathematics* project .
Mathematics teachers or administrators in the Greater Boston area who would
like to start lesson study in their schools may apply now to join at any
one of three entry points (September 2002, January 2003, or September
2003).

PROJECT PARTICIPANTS WILL:
-  Form lesson study groups in their schools. (Each group will participate
in the project for two years.)
-  Learn about lesson study at EDC workshops.
-  Be supported by a team advisor/coach
-  Learn from the experience of other groups and join the growing community
of educators interested in lesson study.
-  Build mathematical and pedagogical expertise.
-  Contribute to new research about lesson study in the U.S.
