To assist Teachers College administration, faculty and staff in their technology purchases, CIS has complied a set of recommended configurations for both desktop and laptop computers as well as printers and other peripheral devices.

This type of standardization allows us to provide the TC with a higher quality of techical support for a variety of reasons.

• A faster turn around time for problem resolution
  Replacement parts are readily available

• Machines can be setup quickly
  Software can be load from a standard image

• Saves money for TC
  Manufactures will discount machines when they are purchase in large quantities

While these standards are based upon institutional and industrial trends, we understand that our recommendations may not fulfill all our users and all departmental needs. All requests for a new PC must go through the Helpdesk. Purchasing requires CIS approval before a PO will be approved.
