The Department of Biobehavioral Sciences, the Swallowing, Voice and Neuroimaging Lab and the Swallowing Telepractice Group are delighted to present a guest lecture by world renown telepractice expert and speech and language pathologist, Dr. Deborah Theodoros, who is visiting us from Australia.
Dr. Theodoros is Professor and Head of the Division of Speech Pathology within the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Queensland, Australia.
She is also the founder and co-director of the multidisciplinary Telerehabilitation Research Unit within the University of Queensland, which for the past 15 years has been actively involved in the development and validation of telerehabilitation applications for the assessment and treatment of neurogenic communication disorders, as well as physiotherapy and occupational therapy applications. Their work has been continuously funded over the years by prestigious grants and has resulted in more than 50 publications in the area of telerehabilitation alone.
The lecture will be on the use of telerehabilitation for speech and physical therapy applications and is open to everyone. It will be held at the Milbank Chapel at 10am on Wednesday May 9th.
